The Rev. Allen Kannapell: “The Hardest Passage in the Gospels” (Luke 16)
2007 October 15
Some might beg to differ, but I can see why the Rev. Allen Kannapell of the Anglican Church of Livonia (AMiA) in Michigan would call Luke 16 The Hardest Passage in the Gospels. In this thoughtful audio sermon, Rev. Kannapell raises some interesting questions for us to think about regarding the account of the unrighteous steward, and in our own relationship with money and wealth.
Incidentally, the great commenter Matthew Henry had some insights into this passage as well, in his exposition on Luke 16. Read this and listen to Rev. Kannapell’s sermon, and I think the combination of sermon and commentary will be most helpful as to what our Lord meant in this account.
