Something Different: A rousing rendition of “And Can It Be?”

October 6, 2012

Here is a version of the Charles Wesley hymn, “And Can It Be?”, that I think you will enjoy.  The YouTube notes say that “This was recorded at St Mary’s Church, Ealing, London for a special BBC Songs Of Praise programme on the life & work of John Newton (1725-1807) entitled ‘God’s Grace’ (Recorded on the 5th & 6th January 2006 at St Mary’s Church, Ealing, London). Introduction is by Sally Magnusson, who gives the background to Newton’s life. Jonathan Veira (Solo Voice/Bass-Baritone), Noel Tredinnick (Conductor – Choir & Ensemble ‘Langham Arts’)), Andrew Earis (Piano), Robin Thompson-Clarke (Cello), David Fitzgerald (Soprano Saxophone).”
