The Rev. Rico Tice: “What is Reality?” (1 Thessalonians 1)

January 30, 2008

If you are familiar with the excellent Christianity Explored program, you may have heard of Rico Tice, who is the co-writer of that curriculum.  He is currently on staff at All Souls’ Church, Langham Place in London–the church where John Stott served for so many years.

In the audio sermon What is Reality?, Rev. Tice, speaking at St. John’s Shaughnessy in Vancouver, asks: If you were to die tonight and God said “Why should I let you into heaven?” What would you reply?

To say the least, that is a question each of us should ask ourselves–see what you think about this sermon.

If the Rev. Tice is co-author of “Christianity Explored”, it is easy to see why the program is enjoying such success. This is a very well done evangelistic sermon. The REC now endorses the “Christianity Explored” program for use by its parishes and missions here in the United States.

I first became aware of the program a couple of years ago when sermon surfing on the websites of UK churches that are members of “Reform”. Most members of “Reform” display the “Christianity Explored” banner on their websites.

“Christianity Explored” is indeed a fine program. I have also seen Rev. Tice on one of the “Book to Book” DVDs (on the one for 1st and 2nd Thessalonians” and he does very well indeed.
