Remembering Reformation Day: Mendelssohn’s “Reformation Symphony”

The 31st of October being Reformation Day, here is Mendelssohn’s Fifth Symphony (‘Reformation’), fourth movement, played by the Dutch Radio Chamber Orchestra and conducted by Ton Koopman.  In this you can hear the underlying strains of Martin Luther’s stirring “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”.
