Added to the Thirty-Nine Articles page: William Wilson’s text

September 30, 2010

Tonight I have added to the Resources page a PDF of a text, The Thirty-nine Articles of the Church of England, by the Rev. William Wilson, B.D. which was published in 1821.  I find this one interesting because Wilson, a fellow of Queens College, Oxford, used “extracts from the liturgy, Homilies, Nowell’s Catechism, and Jewell’s Apology” as illustrations of the Articles’ meaning.  I don’t know much about Wilson but I do find it significant that he, writing in 1821, hearkens to the Anglican Reformers in his text.  This one is worth a look, I think.
