Two more texts on the Thirty-Nine Articles

July 31, 2011

Today I came across, and uploaded to the blog, two more texts on the Thirty-Nine Articles.

The first of these is The Churchman’s Guide in Perilous Times, by the Rev. Thomas Pigot, rector of St. Helen’s, Lancashire; it was published in 1835.

The second is A Familiar and Practical Exposition of the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, by the Rev. H.C. O’Donnoghue, of St. John’s College in Cambridge.  This book was published in 1816.  To me these books are interesting because I see them both as being quite evangelical in tone, much like the later T.P. Boultbee or W.H. Griffith Thomas.  Readers of this blog can download them and see what they think!
