Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali: “In response to the Qur’an recitation in St Mary’s Cathedral, Glasgow”

January 13, 2017

You may have heard about the recent event in Glasgow Cathedral when a Muslim read, from the lectern, Surah 19 on January 6th, the Feast of the Epiphany.  Considering that this passage specifically denies the Sonship of Jesus, one has to ask: just what was the provost of Glasgow Cathedral thinking, allowing this to be read from the pulpit or lectern of a Christian church?

Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali goes into more detail on this in his post In response to the Qur’an recitation in St Mary’s Cathedral, Glasgow, and I agree with him that the Scottish Episcopal Church should repudiate this and exercise appropriate discipline for those involved.
