A new hymn: “Holy Spirit” by Wendy Pixner

April 30, 2018

If you are interested in new hymns, Wendy Pixner has made available a composition of hers titled “Holy Spirit” and it can be accessed at this site.  She writes that “The words owe much to Hildegard of Bingen’s O Ignis Spiritus and Bishop Cosin’s translation of Veni Creator Spiritus” and here is the first verse and chorus:

Holy Spirit come, inspire me.
Breath of God you fill my heart,
with the Father, with the Son,
living God in ev’ry part.

Chorus
Holy fire, flame of the Spirit
gift of God above.
Holy fire, flame of the Spirit,
fill us with your love.

If you are interested in this for a choral performance, the sheet music file including a license for an unlimited number of performances, limited to one year, is available for download free!
