From Tyndale House: “Four Bibles that changed our world”

May 11, 2020

Tyndale House in Cambridge has made available a most interesting article, Four Bibles that changed our world, by Dr Elijah Hixson and Timothy Berg.  The authors look at these editions:

  • Jerome (c347-419) and the Vulgate
  • Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466- 1536) and the Textus Receptus
  • William Tyndale (1494 -1536) and the English New Testament
  • The Authorised Version of 1611

As the authors note, these editions have made an indelible mark on Western culture, and their article really does highlight the incredible debt we owe to them, particularly Tyndale.  I highly commend to you Four Bibles that changed our world.
