The Rev. Johann Vanderbijl: Sermon on the Parable of the Prodigal Son

For one of the best sermons I’ve ever heard on the Parable of the Prodigal Son, try this audio sermon by the Rev. Johann Vanderbijl of the Anglican Church of St. George the Martyr in Simpsonville, South Carolina.  I found his observations about how the older brother in this parable lurks in the hearts of each of us, so to speak, to hit home, as well as what he says about the relationships of the older and younger brothers with their father.  It is so much a mercy of the grace of God to know that whether we are like the older brother or like the younger brother, our Father waits for us with open arms.
